Agri-export company Himalaya International today said it is setting up a plant in Himachal Pradesh to produce fruit yogurt.
The plant is being set up in Sirmour district of Himachal Pradesh for which the company has already imported equipment and technology about Rs 5 crore, Himalaya International's Chairman Manmohan Malik said in a statement.
The company plans to launch real fruit blended yogurts in the country by October during the Navratras festivals.
Malik further said, the company has also signed an agreement with Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Industries to pack and market its plain yogurt under 'Dairy Pure' brand across the country through the latter's retail chain.
Besides, the plant will have the capacity to produce 50 million cups of fruit yogurt per annum under its brand 'Himalaya Fresh'. The product will be blend of both Indian as well as imported fruits for which the company will procure varieties of fruits the country and North America.
The product will be marketed along with the company's other frozen and chilled products through modern retail chains in the country, he added.

For the purpose, the company will procure 30,000 litres of milk per day within 60 km radius and will open 50 milk collection centres for quality buffalo milk.
The agri-export company said it has bagged an export order for frozen yogurt worth 4 million dollars from the US It would market the product under the global brand name 'Uno Italian'.
Further, the company's low fat frozen yogurt will be marketed in global markets under 'Uno Italiano' brand.
