Himalaya International, the BSE listed, frozen food company, will set up the country's largest canned soup plant in its new complex at Vadnagar in Gujarat.
The underconstruction plant will be run in technical assistance from US-based Wayne Farms Inc. Georgia, the company stated today in a release.
The plant will see a total investment of Rs 12 crore and will have a total capacity of 1,100 cans per minute of various sizes. A deal for an automatic soup canning line from Wayne Farms Inc, USA has been concluded.
The canned soup will be launched in Indian and overseas market by January next year under its brands 'Himalaya Fresh' and Uno Italiano' and also under private labels. Commercial production of the plant will start by October this year and the company expects to generate revenue of Rs 120 crore by 2014 from this plant.
