Textile design and manufacturing firm Himatsingka Seide reported a net loss (consolidated) of Rs 32.95 crore for the third quarter ended December 2008, compared to a loss of 1.18 crore for the corresponding quarter in the previous year.
Revenue for the quarter at Rs 284.20 crore was up 13.65 per cent from Rs 250 crore in the same quarter last financial year.
The quarter numbers were impacted due to exceptional items, that include an amount provided for the final settlement of foreign exchange derivative contract worth Rs 7.86 crore and the mark-to-market provision on open foreign exchange derivative contract of Rs 22.31 crore. Moreover, the company had an additional foreign exchange loss of Rs 5.28 crore.
Bed linen manufacturing division Himatsingka Linens reported EBIDTA of Rs 17.54 crore during the quarter as against an EBIDTA loss of Rs 10.64 crore for the corresponding quarter in the previous year.
