Hind Motors launches Lancer Cedia in Pune

at the city launch of the Lancer Cedia.

The Rs 9.87 lakh (ex showroom) car which comes in two variants will be competing with Skoda's Octavia and Toyota Corolla.

"The Lancer Cedia will be competing with cars in the Rs 10 lakh category. This segment is growing at 20 per cent rate which is higher than the industry average. Also the segment commands a 35-40 per cent market share and registers sales of over 25,000 units per annum nationally," he said.

Terming Pune as a "high growth market," he said, "The city comes in the next rung with Chennai, Hyderabad, Ludhiana and Jalandhar, next only to the top three-Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore."

Speaking on the Pune market, he said, "The region sees a sale of 300-350 cars per month in the Rs 10 lakh category."

Revealing the company's plans to expand its network, he said, "We will be increasing our dealer network in the country from the present 40 dealers to have 50-65 showrooms. This will be done by appointing new dealers or by expanding the present dealers network to have more branches."

As for Maharashtra, he said, "We already have dealers in Kolhapur and Nagpur and will cover Nashik and Aurangabad as well."
