Hind Pharma to set up shop in Haridwar

Bhopal-based Hind Pharma will set up shop in Haridwar. The company will also go sell its diet supplements and disinfectants in the central Asian region "� Ukraine, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Egypt and Iraq.
 
The Haridwar unit of the firm will manufacture formulations for the domestic market while the Bhopal (Govindpura industrial area) unit will focus on exports. With this the company has plans to touch a Rs 20 crore turnover in five years.
 
"We are going to make Rs 2 crore investment in the Haridwar unit. Haridwar for diet supplements like Gymnema Sylvestre (locally known as Gurmar), Curcuma Longa or turmeric (also known as Haldi) and Spirulina in capsule form. The unit will also produce aloe vera gel and liquid. We will create at least 25 jobs there," RS Goswami, head of the company, told Business Standard. The Haridwar unit will manufacture tablets as well as products in powder form.
 
Hind Pharma has entered into a tie-up with Ukraine-based Alter-Ego for supply of some dietary supplements and generic drugs.
 
"Registration for few products is under process," said Goswami adding, "We have bagged an order worth $30,000 per month for supply of dietary supplements and generic drugs."
 
Hind Pharma's arm Oman Drugs Pvt Ltd is also supplying water purification tablets to Iraq. "We have recently dispatched a container to Iraq. Earlier we were supplying the tablets through UNICEF under the Oil for Food Programme. We will continue to ship the tablets through private partnership now."
 
On his venture to Haridwar (Uttaranchal, Goswami said, "Ten year tax holiday and a number of sops attracted us to invest in the state."
 
Bhopal unit of Hind Pharma manufactures pharmaceutical formulations and some herbal products. Three products, according to Goswami, were under the process of registration.
 
Hind Pharma has also made an investment of Rs 2.5 crore in upgrading itself up to Schedule M standard.
 
The schedule M is mandatory for all small scale and medium pharma companies to meet the global norms. The Haridwar unit will be ready by this year.
