Aluminium major Hindalco, a part of $35-billion Aditya Birla group, is entering into new segments such as windows and doors systems and building facade for residential and commercial properties. While unbranded aluminium window sand door systems are already available in the market, Hindalco is introducing the Eternia branded range of windows and door systems. The company is already marketing an all-aluminium facade for large buildings through its brand Novelis.
The company has decided to launch the Eternia range of aluminium windows and doors systems in January. It is the first such branded product in the country.

The current market for windows and door systems is about 45,000 tonne in the country of which, Hindalco is initially targeting 10 per cent for the Eternia brand.
“There are limitless colours and textures in Eternia. It is suitable for all kinds of buildings, including residential and commercial. Aluminium facade is a suitable replacement for glass and granite,” Ramaswamy said. These products come at around 15 per cent premium compared with unbranded ones.
