Hindalco to up copper capacity

 The company, which will raise capacity to 250,000 tonnes by March 2004, is planning to add 200,000-250,000 tonne s of smelting capacity at its copper unit in Dahej, Gujarat.  A detailed feasibility report has been completed, a decision on which is yet to be taken by the Hindalco board.  Though Hindalco executives declined to spell out the investment plan, analysts said considering the capacity planned, and additional facilities for power and allied units, the total investment could exceed Rs 2,500 crore.  A senior Hindalco executive told Business Standard,
