Hindustan Copper Ltd today said it has received mini-ratna (category-I) status from the government that will give it a free hand in taking decisions on capital expenditure up to Rs 500 crore.
"HCL has been posting profits for the last four years and the networth stands at Rs 700 crore. The company is now debt free after loans worth Rs 150 crore were repaid," a company statement said.
Also, the company would no longer be dependent on government budgetary support, it said.
