Among key sectors, auto showed 9% rise whereas real estate registered a 5% dip over the same period in hiring.
V Suresh, Chief Sales Officer, Naukri.com, said this is a positive sign for jobseekers across sectors as the city is slowly recovering after incessant rains and floods.
Increased hiring was seen in sectors such as auto, IT-software, banking & financial services.
"Looks like 2016 will be a good year for jobseekers in the city," added Suresh.
Accounting emerged as an enormously strong sector registering a growth of 54% over January 2015.
IT-software and ITeS/BPO also saw hiring going upwards by 22% and 26% respectively over January2015. Among the leading sectors, real estate saw a dip of 5% over the year.
Hiring of IT- software professionals saw increase in their job index value.
There was also an increase in hiring for pharma professionals by 12% over January 2015. However, IT- hardware/telecom saw 10% growth in hiring this year in comparison to last year.
