The company, which currently has around 250 employees between its Chennai and Hyderabad facilities, has set up another global development centre, its second in Chennai and third in India.
The new centre would have 600-700 people in the next two years, said Ananthanarayanan Subramanian, chief executive officer and managing director of Hitachi Solutions India.
The new facility is located in DLF IT Park here, which also houses other global development centres.
Keiho Akiyama, chief executive of Hitachi Solutions America Limited, said the company, which had been outsourcing 50 per cent of its operations, of which a major share is from countries other than Japan, would be looking at increasing its outsourcing from India.
Subramanian also said that the company, which started its operations in India in 2013, was planning a sector-focused approach in the Indian market. The core areas it had identified include healthcare, education, public sector projects, including e-governance and smart cities. It would be focusing on offering Microsoft ERP, CRM, SharePoint, Business Intelligence and Office 365.
The company is in active discussions with three states for e-governance activities, including IT implementation in public work services, sewage treatment plants and transportation.
Employees at the Hitachi's new centre would focus on key Microsoft technologies, including Dynamics AX, Dynamics CRM, and related SharePoint and SQL Server Business Intelligence. The centre would also be the new hub for an-already successful academic programme targeting students of engineering colleges and business schools near Chennai, in offering students the opportunity to develop skills in Microsoft Dynamics.
It would work with the institutions to offer training and recruitment facilities to students. The collaboration entails establishment of internships and job opportunities for candidates completing the course.
