Rolling out the LPG variant Ambassador in compliance with the new Bharat State (BS) III norm in the city, Hindustan Motors today said it would target selling about 1,500 cars with alternative fuels this year."We are the first company to get the BS III certficate. The new ambassador 1.5 LPG will be positioned for intra-city travel with fleet operators from all over Chennai and Tamil Nadu," Ashwini Dubey, executive vice president of Hindustan Motors (HM), said today.The new Ambassador comes with a ex-showroom price tag of Rs 3.53 lakh.HM will be offering a special price of Rs 2.99 lakh for the first 100 vehicles. "If the scheme, which is valid till June 30, goes well, we will look at offering an intermediate price," Dubey said.
