Hmil Launches 3 Santro Variants

Hyundai Motor India Ltd today launched new variants of its small car Santro, which is 1.5 per cent costlier than its earlier versions. Hyundai said the LE variant will cost Rs 3,34,379, while the LS and GS variants will cost Rs 3,75,395 and Rs 3,98,321.

The company is also increasing the price of its small car after a reduction announced subsequent to the Union budget this year.

The cosmetic changes, which the company terms as a "freshening up", include clear headlamps and fog lamps, new rear combination lamps and a rear spolier with LED stop-lamp, a chrome finish radiator grill on the GS variant and a remote fuel lid opener in the LE variant, among others.

Managing director Y S Kim said, "We started operations in India with the launch of Santro in 1998 and over the years earned the reputation of always being proactive and responsive to consumers' changing needs. The new-look Santro is our response to changing customer aspirations."

The company said the new features will add style to the car besides improving the comfort of passengers through ergonomic design changes.
