HMT to showcase technology prowess at Hannover

Hindustan Machines and Tools (HMT) will showcase its prowess in manufacturing and production technology at the Hannover Trade Fair in Germany which is scheduled to start on April 24, this year.

HMT will send a small delegation, including three of its senior directors to participate in the fair, with its latest products and technology. "We have taken up a 54 square metre area at the fair where we will display our important products," said M S Zahed, CMD HMT Ltd.

However, HMT will not be able display the machine tools, the area in which it has the expertise, since the Hannover fair does not permit this, Zahed, who will be the part of the 15-member delegation from IIPE in his capacity as the national chairman, told reporters here.

The items to be displayed by HMT at the trade fair include Trantor, a high-speed tractor, various ranges of smaller tractors including garden tractors and the latest designs of watches among others.

Zahed said that Trantor, which is powered by a 75 horsepower engine, was the patented design of a UK-based company. "HMT has got the worldwide right for manufacturing and sales of the product," he said adding that even the capacity of Trantor could go up to 150 HP. Besides, he said, the Border Security Force had tested a variant of the tractor being manufactured by the HMT.
