Hindusthan National Glass and Industries Ltd (HNGIL) today started one of the world's largest container glass furnaces with a capacity of 650 tonnes per day (TPD).
"The company's new facility is one of the world's largest container glass furnaces with a capacity of 650 TPD. A total of six production lines have been installed with a state of the art technology to produce glass," the company said in a statement.
HNGIL has selected companies like HORN Glass, SORG GmbH, Zippe, Emhart ,Mysac, Sipac for supplying of equipment and technology for this furnace, it added.
HNGIL is one of the largest container glass manufacturers in India with a gross annual turnover of more than Rs 2,000 crore in the 2011-12 fiscal, it said.
The Kolkata headquartered company has manufacturing facilities at Rishra, Bahadurgarh, Rishikesh, Puducherry, Nashik and Neemrana and a global presence in Gardelegen in Germany, it added.
