Honda Activa sales cross 10 million

Launched in 2001, Honda sold 55,000 units in first year

Gearless scooter Activa from Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) has achieved a new record of becoming the first scooter in India to achieve sales of 10 million.

Launched in 2001 Honda sold 55,000 units in the first year. It became the market leader 3 years later. Since then, Activa has grown to sell over 2.1 million units in FY'2014-15. The Delhi-based two-wheeler maker has a 59% market share in the scooter segment.
