The Kolkata-based Hotel Hindustan International (HHI) Group has entered into Pune hospitality market by setting up a five star property in Viman nagar area. The group has invested over Rs 85 crore in this hotel and plans to develop few more budget hotels in tier-II cities like Jaipur, Patna, Raipur, Indore and Guwahati. Also, it has acquired land to set up another five star hotel in Goa.
Commenting on Pune's hospitality market he said, "We are ready cater to India's fast growing business travel market. Pune hospitality market is became very competitive. There are many branded five star properties have been developed in the city. But I am confident that HHI will do best and will make profits. We are delighted to add Pune to HHI’s footprint and it is our first entry into Maharashtra. This is the fifth property from the HHI Group and like other HHI properties the HHI Pune too reveals a new world unfolding from the old in the last three years." The group is also planning to launch an IPO next year to raise around Rs 700 crore for the expansion. According to Jaiswal, Pune property will focus on food and beverages segment than the room service.
