HP, Amrita Research sign pact for healthcare

HP and Amrita Research Laboratories (ARL) have announced the signing of an MoU to pursue a joint 'go to market' strategy to penetrate the healthcare sector in India.
 
ARL and HP will offer a complete range of IT services including domain specific solutions for healthcare organisations. Hospital Information System (HIS) from Amrita is the first of them.
 
According to Biswanath Bhattacharya, director sales, public sector segment, HP India: "The partnership with ARL is a key element in our strategy to identify growth opportunities in the healthcare segment in India. We do believe Information Technology can revolutionise healthcare and the combination of our domain experience in Information Technology and Amritas' expertise in healthcare provides us with a distinct edge to address the requirements of this emerging segment."
 
Commenting on the MOU, Indramohan Sahadevan from ARL said: "There is a growing need for healthcare delivery networks to have an integrated system which fulfills all their requirements. Its our firm belief that the Amrita HIS and HP solutions will together bring a unique value proposition for Indian healthcare industry."
 
The Hospital Information System (HIS) from ARL known as Amrita HIS is based on the patent-pending HMOS (Healthcare Management Operating System) framework. This enables Amrita HIS to be very cost effective yet provide the complete functional needs of a hospital.
 
The Amrita Hospital Information System manages all the patient information from patient registration to discharge. The various sub-modules, seamlessly integrated, cover all the hospital transactions related to the patients.
