Hewlett-Packard (HP) India plans to shift focus towards the public sector and the manufacturing industry for its software offerings business. For this, the company plans to introduce new offerings, expand its reach and strengthen its channel partners. |
"So far, maximum revenues for the software group has been coming from service providers. These include both telecom service providers and management service providers (companies that manage IT services for other companies)," Bithin Talukdar, market development and alliances (software global business unit), Hewlett-Packard India Sales Private Limited, told Business Standard. |

"The banking, financial services and insurance sector also contribute significantly to our revenues followed by the manufacturing industry and the public sector. This year, we are focusing on the latter two and expect these to contribute the maximum to our revenues," Talukdar said. |

Some of HP's clients on the software front include Mahindra & Mahindra, BSNL, Wipro, Bank of India and Hindustan Lever Limited. |

HP has two software offerings in the Indian market-HP OpenView and HP OpenCall. HP OpenView is a management software for the enterprise and enables business alignment, IT process automation and infrastructure optimisation. |

HP OpenCall is a service providers' solution that enables management of the triple play of voice, data and multimedia services. |

"We intend to being more solutions to the market and strengthen our reach," Talukdar said. |
