HPCL lines up Rs 7.5cr for welfare projects

Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) has earmarked Rs 7.5 crore for the corporate social responsibility projects during this year.
 
"We have taken up seven welfare projects with the help of local non governmental organisations across the county. During next year, HPCL will allot more funds towards its corporate responsibility," Sonal Desai, deputy general manager-Retail, HPCL, told mediapersons.
 
HPCL recently joined hands with the Naandi Foundation to implement the 'Nanhi Kali' project to support the education of underprivileged girl children in the state, she said.
 
"The Naandi Foundation, with the financial support of several organisations including HPCL, currently provides education facilities to 11,000 girls in four states. Our aim is to provide education facilities to one lakh girl children by 2010 under the Nanhi Kali project," K Ravi Shankar, head, Nanhi Kali Project, said.
