HPCL plans to add 400 more 'Club HP' outlets this fiscal

Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) plans to increase the number of 'Club HP' brand outlets to around 2,000 from the present 1,600 by the end of the current financial year.
 
Club HP is the branded retail outlet of HPCL, which offers a host of other facilities besides selling petrol, diesel and other products.
 
Speaking at the launch of a co-branded credit card with Andhra Bank, S P Chaudhry, executive director (retail), Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited, said, "The retail business of the company has been growing steadily and looking at the future where there would be competition not only from local players but also from international players, we plan to increase the number of Club HP outlets."
 
The company, currently has 6,000 retail outlets across the country and a market share of around 23 per cent in the retail segment. The company also plans to increase the number of new look visual outlets in the country from 200 to around 500 in the next five months.
 
"The company plans to increase the number of 'Hamara Pumps', an innovative form of reaching out fuels to the rural parts of the country, from the present 250 to 500 in the next three months," Chaudhry said. According to him the number of customers using different cards is growing at a rate of around 70,000 to 80,000 per month.
 
Speaking about the new co-branded credit card, R Balakrishnan, executive director, Andhra Bank said, "This value addition will give a benefit to the credit cardholders as there will not be any service charge of 2.5 per cent for the petrol purchases at HPCL petrol bunks."
 
The bank has come out with a card under Visa Classic and Visa Gold categories.
 
Balakrishnan said that both the cards have accident insurance coverage of Rs 2 lakh and Rs 5 lakh respectively. According to him, the cash withdrawal on these cards is 50 per cent of the total card limit and the free credit period ranges from 21 to 50 depending on the date of purchase.
