HPCL Visakha refinery death toll touches 11

Two more workers, who were undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Visakhapatnam, succumbed to their injuries. With this, the death toll in the HPCL Visakha refinery fire accident has touched 11.

HPCL director (refineries) B K Namdeo told mediapersons in Visakhapatnam on Tuesday 34 workers were undergoing treatment at various hospitals. While one worker has been discharged, three or four may be discharged tomorrow, he added.

Cleaning of the debris at the site continues. An expert team from the AP Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) had visited the site and completed inspection, he said.
