The Haryana Power Generation Corporation Ltd (HPGCL) has achieved a record generation of 458.68 lakh units of power in a single day on November 09, which is the highest ever since its formation.

A spokesman said here today that the HPGCL had bettered its own record of power generation of 457.76 Lakh Units achieved on September 28 by generating around 92000 more units of electricity in a single day.

He said that the 210 MW and 250 Mw power generating units of thermal station Panipat achieved a plant load factor (PLF) of 102.71%.

As per technical norms the units have been designed with a margin of 3 per cent over the rated capacity.

Overall the plant load factor of the power generating units at Panipat thermal plant was 91.09%.     Giving details of power generated at the Thermal Power Station Yamuna Nagar, he said that the plant contributed 143.04 lakh units of power to the State kitty.

The two 300 Mw generating units of the plant achieved a PLF of 99.34%.

He said that the HPGCL, on an average, had targeted to contribute 368 lakh units of electricity daily to the State in the month of November, 08.

The contribution by the HPGCL generating units had helped minimizing State's dependence on other power supplying agencies.

It also helped in less over-drawls from the northern grid, for which the  State had to pay a higher cost.
