FMCG major Hindustan Unilever Ltd (HUL) today said its net profit rose 20.63% to Rs 686.61 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2012.
It had posted a net profit of Rs 569.18 crore in the same period of 2010-11, HUL said in a filing to the BSE.
Net sales of the company stood at Rs 5,660.48 crore in Q4, 2011-12, as against 4,893.67 crore in the same period of 2010-11.
For the entire 2011-12 fiscal, HUL posted consolidated net profit of Rs 2,800.14 crore, as against Rs 2,306.63 crore in 2010-11.
The company's net sales for the fiscal were Rs 22,987.73 crore, up from Rs 19,647.69 crore in 2010-11.
The company's board, which met today, recommended a dividend of Rs 4 per share of Re 1 each. Together with interim dividend of Rs 3.50 per share, the total dividend for the financial year ending March 31, 2012 amounts to Rs 7.50 per share.
