Chicago-headquartered hotel chain Hyatt Hotels Corporation has marked its entry in Pune on Monday by opening five star deluxe 'Hyatt Regency'.

The hotel has 222 rooms including suites developed on seven lakh square feet area including various facilities. Additionally, the hotel will also offer 84 serviced apartments for long-stay guests, which will open for business by middle of 2011. It is located in the Weikfield IT Park complex on Pune-Ahmadnagar Road.

Gadi Hassin, general manager Hyatt Regency said,  "The hotel will focus on the potential offered by Pune’s growing manufacturing and information technology sectors. The hotel will pitch itself in the luxury segment but will structure its tariffs flexible enough to accommodate the market conditions at a given point in time. In the nine months till September, five-star hotels in Pune posted 62 per cent occupancy rates and we expect this to continue."

Hassin added, "If we are less occupied, we will be less expensive, if we are more occupied we will be more expensive. Pune market has been witnessing a significant hectic activity with most sectors."

Delhi-based Jatia family which also owns Hyatt Delhi property, is the promoter of Hyatt Regency, Pune. It is a joint venture of Jatia family and Pune-based real estate firm Vascon Engineers.

Hyatt Hotels Corporation is coming up with two more hotels Hyatt Regency in Chennai and Grand Hyatt in Goa.
