Shoppers Stop-owned hypermarket chain HyperCITY announced the appointment of some key management executives, including Ramesh Menon as chief executive officer.

Menon was with Reliance Communcations as national head of wireless operations. According to a recent report, previous CEO Vipin Bhandary quit last year and the chain was without one for almost a quarter.

Menon becomes the third CEO in 20-odd months, after Mark Ashman quit in 2014.

The chain also said it had named Yogesh Bisht as vice-president, human resources. Bisht has 21 years of experience in the hospitality, retail and real estate sectors.

It also named Manoj Jain as vice-president of marketing, loyalty and visual merchandising.

On Menon's hiring, Govind Shrikhande, managing director, said: “Ramesh comes with a wealth of experience of over 25 years in the retail sector. He will be responsible for leading the growth strategy, path to profitability, store operations and more... this comes at an important time as we continue on our path of profitable, sustainable growth.”
