Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) today reported sales of 50,411 units for July, up 10.7 per cent from 45,539 units in the same month last year.
During July this year, domestic sales were at 28,811 units against 23,193 units in July, 2009, up 24.2 per cent, HMIL said in a statement.
Exports declined by 3.3 per cent to 21,600 units during the month from 22,346 units in the same month last year, it added.
Commenting on July sales, HMIL Director - Marketing and Sales Arvind Saxena said: "The recently launched Verna Transform along with the tried and trusted Accent helped us consolidate our position in the mid (sedan) segment."
He said the market continues to be positive and in the next quarter the company expects the trend to continue with the onset of the festive season.
In July this year, sales in the A2 segment (Santro, i10 and i20) were at 44,522 units, while that in the A3 segment (Accent and Verna) were 5,858 units.
The A5 segment (Sonata Transform) witnessed sales of 31 units, it said.
