Led by a 24.3 per cent growth in sales of its compact segment car Santro, Hyundai Motor India Ltd reported a 19.3 per cent growth in sales for the month of August.
The company has also reported back orders of over 800 cars for the Accent Viva, the semi-notchback variant of its lower C-segment offering Accent, which was launched during the month.
Cumulative sales stood at 9,834 units, as against 8,241 units sold during the same month last year.

Sales of the Santro Zip Plus crossed the 8,000 mark and touched 8,193 units, as against 6,590 units last year. The Santro Zip Plus (with a 1.1 litre engine), launched recently, now comprises almost the entire sales of the car, with the 1-litre engine almost going out of demand.
