Hyundai Motor India, the country's second-largest car maker, today reported a 28.15% jump in its total sales in November, 2011, at 57,080 units.
The company sold 44,540 units in the year-ago period, Hyundai Motor India (HMIL) said in a statement.
In the domestic market, the company's sales increased 10.97% to 35,000 units from 31,540 units in the same month last year, it added.
Exports of the company went up by 69.85% to 22,080 units during the month under review from 13,000 units in the year-ago period, the statement said.
"In a challenging market, we have been able to grow volumes and market share on the strength of our new launches -- Verna and Eon. Our immediate outlook on the market is not too bright, as interest rates and fuel prices are unlikely to soften in the foreseeable future," HMIL Director (Marketing and Sales) Arvind Saxena said.
In the A2 segment (Eon, Santro, i10 and i20), the company sold 48,732 units, while in the A3 segment (Accent and Verna), sales stood at 8,223 units.
The A5 segment (Sonata Transform) of HMIL witnessed sales of 3 units, while its new Santa Fe SUV attracted 122 buyers during the month.
