Hyundai Motor India, the country’s second largest car manufacturer and the largest passenger car exporter, saw total sales of 52,058 units for April, 2011 as against 52,020 units in April 2010, up 0.1%.
Hyundai Motor's domestic sales grew 11% for April 2011 to 31,636 units as against 28,501 units in April, 2010. The company's exports declined by 13.2% to 20,422 units from 23,519 units, last year.
Arvind Saxena, Director - Marketing and Sales, Hyundai Motor said, “The rising interest rates have led to reduced enquires and the conversion rate too has slowed down. We expect the same trend to continue in the coming months.”
The company's A2 segment (Santro, i10, i20) saw sales of 46,779 units; A3 Segment (Accent & Verna) 5,227 units; A5 segment (Sonata Transform) 20 units; Santa Fe (SUV) 32 units.
