iGATE Global Solutions, yesterday announced the inauguration of a new 65,000 sq ft facility in the city. The company also announced that it would be doubling its headcount in the Hyderabad centre in the course of the current financial year.

Addressing a press conference to announce the inauguration of the new facility, Phaneesh Murthy, CEO of iGATE Global Solutions, said that the company had invested close to $1 million for the facility.

"We are committed to providing a gold-standard experience to all our stakeholders, and the new centre in Hyderabad is a symbol of that. We plan to ramp up our strength here from about 200 to 500 in the course of the year," he said.

iGATE had earlier this year said that it would be recruiting close to 1,000 people in the course of the year and the ramp up in headcount in Hyderabad would be part of this planned ramp-up.

With this new centre, iGATE has close to 3 lakh sq ft of infrastructure spread across its centres in Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, and Noida. The company has also commenced a 2 lakh sq ft expansion at its 14-acre campus in Bangalore.

Spread over five levels, the iGATE global development centre in Hyderabad can house over 500 software professionals.
