Fifty-one of these stations were set up in the National Capital Territory, while 21 were located in Greater Noida and Ghaziabad, the company stated. The new refueling stations have been set up at the retail outlets of Indian Oil (IOC), Bharat Petroleum Corp (BPCL) and Hindustan Petroleum (HPCL). The company will set up 18 more fuelling facilities this month to meet the target of new stations set by the Supreme Court, IGL Managing Director Narendra Kumar said.
According to directions of the apex court, 104 new CNG stations were to be set up in Delhi-NCR, of which IGL has to set up 90 facilities.

While all taxis running in Delhi and NCR have been mandated to run on CNG by the Supreme Court, there has also been a rise in the conversion of private cars into the CNG mode.
IGL currently sells CNG to over 800,000 vehicles, while catering to the largest road- based public transport fleet of buses in the world. “There has been a growth of eight per cent in average daily CNG sales since January, with IGL recording peak CNG sale of 2.72 million kg per day. IGL has been registering average sale of 2.6 million kg per day on working days in the past fortnight, it stated.
With the recent expansion of IGL's CNG refuelling infrastructure at a cost of over Rs 250 crore, its installed compression capacity has crossed 7 million kg per day, enough to dispense over 3.5 million kg per day, the IGL statement claimed.
