The Indian Industries Association (IIA), an industry body dedicated to the cause of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), plans to cover the whole of north India by opening state and chapter offices at all feasible locations in the region by the end of this year.
“Through this expansion, we expect to facilitate more MSMEs in their overall development and growth,” IIA president Parveen Sadana said. In this regard, the IIA national office at Delhi has now become fully functional while its central office at Lucknow has been converted into a corporate office, he added.
“New district-level offices have recently been opened in Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Gujarat and Uttarakhand, while some others are in various stages of implementation,” Sadana said.
Till recently, IIA functioned under a two-tier system with state-level offices in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand and around 35 district-level offices (chapter offices) in several other states.
“Our objective to usher in a three-tier operating system for greater efficiency and knowledge sharing, which materialised with the opening of the Delhi office,” he added.
