IL&FS Engineering and Construction Ltd, formerly known as Maytas Infra Ltd, posted a net loss of Rs 14.11 crore in the three months to June 30, compared with Rs 43.46 crore in the same quarter last year. Total income rose 40 per cent in the quarter to Rs 253.17 crore from Rs 180.72 crore. The company said the financial results include its share of profits amounting to Rs 51.18 lakh from integrated joint ventures in which it is a co-venturer, except from one JV which has not yet prepared its results. On realising its claim for Rs 323.78 crore from the erstwhile Satyam Computer Services Ltd, the company said it was confident of recovering the inter-corporate deposits with interest.
DQE’s Q1 loss deepens
Animation company DQ Entertainment (International) Ltd reported a consolidated net loss of Rs 13.35 crore in the three months to June 30, 2011, compared with a loss of Rs 10.97 crore in the comparable period last year.
Net income rose 17 per cent to Rs 27.96 crore from Rs 23.91 crore. A 26 per cent increase in employees cost to Rs 24 crore was the major item in the company’s total expenditure of Rs 40 crore (Rs 35.7 crore). In the quarter, the company received 94 per cent of the revenue from the animation segment, while the rest was contributed by distribution and gaming segments. While the animation segment added to Rs 6.92 crore to the bottomline, distribution and unallocated expenses made for a loss of Rs 17.76 crore, according to a release.
Bartronics Q1 net up 33 per cent
Technology products company Bartronics India Ltd reported a 33.1 per cent growth in net profit for the quarter ended June 30, 2011, to Rs 30.87 crore from Rs 22.52 crore in the corresponding three months of last year. At Rs 262.32 crore, its net sales revenue grew 61 per cent from Rs 162.75 crore. On the expenditure side, consumption of raw materials more than doubled to Rs 162.21 crore (Rs 60.48 crore). Managing director Sudhir Rao said the company had added 10 new projects during the quarter in the financial inclusion business segment. With this, the total number of projects has gone up to 30 and the number of villages being covered rose to around 60,000.
Gayatri Projects Q1 net rises 11 pc
Gayatri Projects has reported a net profit of Rs 16.73 crore in the quarter ended June 30, 2011, an increase of 11 per cent from Rs 15.06 crore earned in the corresponding quarter last year. Its sales revenues grew 17 per cent to Rs 401.43 crore from Rs 342.59 crore.
