The company has installed 800 Amp capacity HTLS (High tension Low Sag) conductor at its Odisha plant in place of 550 Amp capacity conductor which will enable the company to generate 50 MW of additional power to its existing 110 MW.
Subhrakant Panda, Managing Director and CEO, IMFA said, “The replacement of the conductor, first of its kind in Odisha, will lead to enhanced power supply to more households thereby fuelling the power sector in the state.”

HTLS is the latest state of the art conductor which has huge carrying capacity and does not sag due to temperature and flow of current. IMFA has reduced the transmission losses to minimal by replacing the conductor and enhancing the power carrying capacity of existing transmission lines.
The earlier power supplied through 132 KV ICCL Grid-Choudwar Grid line of Odisha Power Transmission Corporation Limited was not adequate to handle the power flow due to enhanced capacity of the CGP of IMFA at Choudwar.
With an investment of approximately Rs 2.5 crore in the project the new HTLS transmission lines will carry more than 150 MW and will enhance power supply to the state grid.
