The hardware major said a fair number of small businesses, large enterprises and government departments were moving to the virtual cloud for data services. The transition was happening through a mix of public and private cloud migration, he said.
“The government was driving cloud adoption as its key objective for ensuring seamless data flow between the state departments,” said Ramachandran. HP also sees a fair opportunity in the education sector for cloud services.

As part of expanding its education sector engagement, HP has partnered with state-based KL University for providing scalable and simplified technology infrastructure in the cloud for hosting applications that can enhance the varsity’s research capabilities.
The HP Converged Cloud solution housing the CloudSystem Matrix is equipped to store and manage massive data generated by students and research groups on the campus.
“KL University can now offer dynamic IT services and applications on demand, enabling it to respond quickly to the needs of 12,000 students while reducing the overall infrastructure costs besides enhancing student employability,” said LSS Reddy, pro-vice chancellor of the varsity.
The infrastructure integration at the varsity’s campus was carried out by IT services major Wipro.
HP is aiming to cover 25 per cent of university base in the country through the converged cloud solution.
