Two-wheeler maker India Yamaha Motor today reported a 30.35 per cent increase in its total sales at 29,728 units for July.
The company had sold 22,807 units in the same month of the previous year, India Yamaha Motor said in a statement.
Domestic sales rose by 32.24 per cent to 22,899 units in July 2010 from 17,316 units in the same month last year, it added.
During the previous month, the company exported 6,829 units against 5,491 units in the year-ago period, a jump of 24.37 per cent.
"Yamaha has been consistent in maintaining its north-ward sales graph, which indicates that it has not only cemented its position in the Indian two-wheeler sector but also in the minds of its customers," India Yamaha Motor Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director Yukimine Tsuji said.
He said the company is planning to launch a slew of bikes very shortly in the coming months.
"With these launches, we envisage a totally result-driven season for Yamaha for the rest of this year," Tsuji added.
