Two-wheeler maker India Yamaha Motor today reported 6% increase in total sales at 36,581 units for April, 2012.
The company had sold 34,476 units in April last year, India Yamaha Motor said in a statement.
In the domestic market, the company's sales stood at 26,944 units, as against 25,817 units in the same month last year, up 4.4%.
Exports of India Yamaha stood at 9,637 units from 8,659 units in the year-ago period, it added.
"We had entered the financial year on a high note and hope to sustain it throughout the year. Our models - YZF-R15 Version 2.0, FZ series and SZ series are doing very well in their respective segments and are playing an instrumental role in driving the sales for our company," India Yamaha Motor CEO and MD Hiroyuki Suzuki said.
The company recently introduced new variants of the FZ series in order to add freshness to the product and kept in line with its promise to give new to its customers, he added.
