Indiagames, a provider of online and mobile games, has tied up with Bharat Sanchar Nigam (BSNL), to offer its online 'games on demand' service. |
The partnership will be on a revenue sharing basis where the majority of the income from the games will go to the Indiagames, according to the official sources. |
Vishal Gondal, CEO Indiagames said, "BSNL with its strong nationwide broadband network presence will help us to take our games out to a much wider audience which has been ever done before." |
BSNL has over 8 lakh broadband customers spread in 700 cities and towns all across the country. By partnering Indiagames, BSNL for the first time is delivering content over broadband. |
"In the near future, we are also planning to provide many other value-added services like Internet Protocol TV (IPTV) and video on demand (VOD)," said Anil K Sinha, chairman and managing director, BSNL. |
The games of demand service will be available to all DataOne broadband customers throughout the country, under Rs 100 plan or Rs 200 plan. |
The customer also has a choice to register for the games on demand service for a free trial period of 15 days on any chosen plan, at the end of which he can opt for regularising the services. This will be available to him on a post-paid tariff basis. DataOne customers can directly register online through the DataOne portal. |
To begin with, the services will offer over 300 international titles including Age of Empires-II, Brian Lara's cricket, Lara Croft Tomb Raider, IGI-2 Covert Strike, Rise of Nations and Hitman among others. |
