In technical terms, the yield was "the capitalised value of the net annual rental, that's annual rent minus any property tax, maintenance and other outgoings", the survey said. |

Multinational corporations like General Electric, Microsoft and Oracle have also been buying across the country. Corporates bought 1,350 acres of land at around Rs 1,600 crore during the last two years in the western region. |

Reliance Infocomm, Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant, Syntel and Veritas acquired 540 acres for Rs 750 crore in Mumbai and Pune during the last one year. |

In the south, General Electric, Infosys, Satyam, Intel and Timken purchased 245 acres in Bangalore costing Rs 330 crore. Xanasa, Infosys, Polaris, TCS and Wipro procured a total 300 acres in Chennai, while Microsoft, Oracle, and others purchased 135 acres in Hyderabad for Rs 80 crore. |
