Indo Rama Synth Q3 net rises 81%

Indo Rama Synthetics (IRSL) has shown a net profit of Rs 71.7 crore in the third quarter of 2003-04, recording a growth of 81 per cent over the year-ago period. However, sales fell to Rs 544.7 crore in Q3 2003-04, as against Rs 615.7 crore in the same quarter last year.

During April-December 2003-04, IRSL's sales of polyster and yarn fell to Rs 1693 crore as against Rs 1701 crore in the year ago period.

Over this period, net profit grew 5 per cent to Rs 119 crore. The company will pay interim dividend of Rs 1 per Rs 10 share on January 23.

Finolex Cables Q3 net rises 52%

Finolex Cables' net profit has risen 52 per cent at Rs 7.19 crore for the third quarter ended December 2003, against Rs 4.7 crore in the corresponding period of the previous year.

Net sales rose 6.1 per cent at Rs 119.5 crore (Rs 112.6 crore). Other income increased 155.1 per cent at Rs 7.4 crore (Rs 2.9 crore).

Mercator net zooms 695%

Mercator Lines has posted a 695.42 per cent jump in net profit for the quarter ended December 31, 2003, at Rs 13.92 crore against Rs 1.75 crore for the corrresponding period of the previous year. Income from operations increased 296.12 per cent to Rs 72.53 crore (Rs 18.31 crore).

Shasun Chemicals Q3 net rises 28%

Shasun Chemicals and Drugs has posted a 28 per cent increase in net profit and a 15 per cent growth in revenues for the third quarter ending December 31, 2003.

Net profit stood at Rs 5.54 crore on revenues of Rs.70.61 crore as against Rs 4.32 crore on revenues of Rs.61.52 crore in the corresponding period last year.
