Along side the mini-ministerial meeting beginning here from today, the World Trade Organisation is convening on July 24, a 'Singalling Conference' where countries would give indications of the kind of market they are willing to concede in services.
"FICCI has sought significant outcome from the conference on services negotiations that should result in meaningful market access for Indian service-providers and professionals in developed countries," it said.
It demanded that the conference should be held in serious negotiation mode. The domestic regulations acting as barriers to the supply of services by Indian professionals in the developed markets should be removed, it said.
"Indian business is relying on the services negotiations to have effective market access in developed countries," chamber Secretary General Amit Mitra said.

Commerce and Industry Minister Kamal Nath has already said there would be no Doha agreement till India gets commitments on services as well.
India has been seeking greater market for its services in engineering, Research and Development, healthcare and construction by way of removal of restrictions on short-term visas. New Delhi has made it clear, however that it is not seeking immigration but easier movement of professionals across frontiers.
"Positive outcomes in the area of services, particularly in Mode 4 (Movement of Service Persons/Professionals) and Mode 1 (Cross-Border Supply) will be essential for ensuring a balanced result of the Doha negotiations," Mitra said.
