Leading Internet firm Info Edge, which owns job portal naukri.Com, today reported third quarter profit after tax of Rs 15.64 crore, a nine per cent decline from the corresponding period previous fiscal.
The company recorded a fall in its total income at Rs 66.05 crore in the quarter ended December 2009, compared to Rs 70.17 crore in the year-ago period, it said in a statement.
The drop in other income (due to one-off elements last year) contributed to a drop in total profit after tax, it added.
"The environment continues to improve, which should lead to top line and bottom line expansion in subsequent quarters," Info Edge (India) CFO and Director Ambarish Raghuvanshi said.
The firm's realty portal '99 acres' continued to be in investment mode during the quarter, however, the losses reduced, the company said.
"Naukri.Com business has witnessed steady improvement with a strong revenue growth and advertisement revenues rising sequentially," Info Edge CEO Sanjeev Bikhchandani said.
Meanwhile, matrimony site Jeevansathi.Com and education portal Shiksha.Com achieved growth in revenues at 13.6 per cent and 92 per cent, respectively.
