Infosys, India’s second largest IT services provider, has signed a technology outsourcing deal with French container shipping major CMA CGM Group that mandates it to open a local delivery centre at Marseille  ( the port city of France) for delivering services.

The Indian services firm also take over staff and operations of CMA CGM in Dubai as part of the deal, whose financial details were not disclosed.

Infosys would help the shipping major in both maintenance and development of SAP-based applications and provide its digital technology platform Nia as a service for digital transformation.

As part of the partnership, CMA CGM will use Infosys Nia’s artificial intelligence platform and its scalable automation platform, AssistEdge, to revamp its customer service, improve process execution and enhance internal performance.

“Simplifying the technology footprint and leveraging next-generation technologies is the need of the hour for the hyper-competitive shipping and logistics industry. We look forward to helping CMA CGM leapfrog to the next-generation of software-led business innovation which is customer friendly, cost-effective and flexible,” said Rajesh Krishnamurthy, Head of Europe, Infosys.

At the same time, Infosys would be keen to use the logistics industry experience through this partnership and help CMA CGM in its business transformation.
