Infosys Technologies, the second largest software development company in the country, today said that it will relook at its maiden investment plan in West Bengal following the ongoing crisis in Singur. "We will have a relook and rethink on our investment plan in the state. We need stability for growth and safety of our employees," Mohandas Pai, member of the board, Infosys, said.
Talking to reporters here, he said the IT minister and chief minister of West Bengal have spoken to Infosys and assured of safety of their employees. "We are happy that the chief minister has spoken to Infosys. We hope that the situation gets better over the next few days," he said.
The company is planning to invest Rs 250 crore to set up a development centre on the outskirts of Kolkata and provide employment to 5,000 people.
