Infy high on terror alert

Infosys Technologies, which is among the list of potential terrorist attack targets, is on 'high alert' after Bangalore-based people were linked with the recent foiled attacks in the UK. "We are on high alert. We have initiated several measures, which we cannot disclose... Our level of preparedness has increased," said Infosys CEO and MD S Gopalakrishnan.

He said Infosys was working "closely" with the Karnataka government to identify the nature of threats and their sources. "Bangalore is a high-growth city. The focus of the business community and the terrorists is on the city. We are increasing the security to safeguard the interests of our employees, business and clients," he added. Last year, two terrorists, arrested in Mysore, had confessed to the police that they were targeting the Infosys campus in Bangalore.
