Insecticides (India) Ltd, an agro chemical manufacturer, has embarked on a expansion drive in Gujarat. The company plans to pump in Rs 40 crore over the next year for setting up a 10,000 tonnne capacity technical synthesis plant and research and development centre at Dahej. The facility will be operational by the mid 2010, said VK Singhal, deputy general manager (marketing), Insecticides India.
“Gujarat agro chemical market is estimated at around Rs. 350 crore. With an estimated business of Rs 20 crore, our company plans to strengthen its brand presence and widen the distributors’ network in the state,” he added. The company plans to strengthen the presence of its brands namely Victor, Sharp, Lethal, Thimet and Milquat in the state and hopes to capture a 6 per cent market share in Gujarat.
