InterfaceFLOR sets up subsidiary in Bangalore

InterfaceFLOR, the US-based modular flooring division of the $1.2 billion Interface Inc, is setting up a wholly-owned subsidiary in India.
 
InterfaceFlor has been present in India for the past six years through partners and is now upgrading the status to a subsidiary, InterfaceFLOR India Pvt Ltd, headquartered in Bangalore.
 
Addressing the media here on Thursday, President and CEO, InterfaceFLOR in Europe, Middle East, Africa and India Lindsey Parnell said, "In response to customer demands we have set up a full service operation in India offering a full range of products and services to customers and business partners. We expect a 30 per cent year-on-year growth and hope to achieve the one million sq metre mark in sales in 2009."
 
According to company officials, Bangalore represents their largest market in India.
 
The company also announced the setting up of sales offices in Mumbai, Delhi and Chennai.
 
InterfaceFLOR has been selling carpet tiles for commercial use in India since 2001, primarily to the corporate sector.
 
"In the last seven years, we have sold more than 1.4 million sq. mts. of carpet tiles in India and have built a base of over 200 customers," he said.
