Praveen Kumar Goyal has taken over as director (finance) of Indian Oil Corp, the nation's largest oil firm.

"Prior to his elevation to the board of directors, he was executive director (International Trade, Information Systems and Optimisation) at IOC's corporate office," the company said in a press statement here.

Goyal replaces S V Narasimhan, who superannuated on April 30.

He has over three decades of experience in IOC and has handled the entire gamut of activities in the Finance function.

"A chartered accountant, Goyal has shouldered wide- ranging responsibilities that include treasury operations of size exceeding $80 billion, policy formulation and statutory compliances as well as appraisal of projects beyond Rs 100 crore," it said.

He had previously held board-level positions in IOC's subsidiaries such as Chennai Petroleum Corp Ltd, Lanka IOC, IOT Infrastructure & Energy Services Ltd and erstwhile Bongaigaon Refinery & Petrochemicals Ltd.
