iShares strengthens its Asia management team

Barclays Global Investors' exchange traded fund (ETF) arm iShares has announced four key appointments at its Asia management team, a move that is expected to cater to the growing demand of ETF business in the region.     

The new appointments include David Gardner as Managing Director and Head of Sales for iShares Asia-Pacific, Joseph Cavatoni as Managing Director, iShares Asia Capital Markets, the company said in a statment.     

Besides, Eleanor Seet was appointed as Senior Director of iShares Private Wealth Distribution and Anthony Chan as iShares Senior Investment Strategist, it added.     

IShares has announced four new appointments for its Asia- Pacific unit in a bid to cater to its growing market in Asia, with a significant expansion of its Asia management team.     

"The market for ETFs in Asia continues to expand at a rapid rate. To meet the growing demand, iShares has significantly strengthened its regional management team with new client service support for institutional investors, private wealth managers and our capital markets partners," iShares Asia-Pacific CEO Nick Good said.     

"We believe that this expanded base of senior-level talent will provide the highest quality service to our clients and support iShares' position as the world's leading provider of exchange traded funds," Good added.     

Meanwhile, US firm BlackRock this week confirmed it is in talks with Barclays to acquire BGI including iShares.
