Jabra may launch low-end headsets

G N Netcom, a subsidiary of Nasdaq-listed G N Store Nord that provides hands-free communication solutions under the Jabra brand, is planning to launch low-end, wireless mono headsets next year in India. “We are looking into the low-cost segment, primarily targeting emerging markets, including India and Latin America. We may introduce these products sometime next year,” said Ann Goh, sales director (south Asia region), consumer solutions, G N Netcom.

The company, which is considered one of the leaders in wireless hands-free communication products globally, is also planning to launch the Jabra music range in the second half of this calendar year, as part of its plan to increase presence in the audio accessories segment.

The products include stereo headsets that can be connected to mobile handsets via Bluetooth and also through wires. It will also launch a portable speaker that can be connected with mobile handsets and other music players.

“Globally, these products are priced at $300 (wireless) and $250 (wired). However, we are yet to finalise pricing for the Indian market. We plan to offer them at a competitive price,” Goh added.
